Business Inspiration: How to Find it

Inspiration. As an entrepreneur, you simply can’t do without it. But what happens when you’re running low?

I started this blog series to provide tangible advice for entrepreneurs, such as finding a mentor or optimizing your time in office. While those aren’t necessarily easy things to accomplish – at least you can usually read a business blog and understand what needs to be done.

But what about finding inspiration for your business? This is where it gets tricky because it’s something that comes from within. Finding inspiration is different for everyone.

My inspiration secret

I need to constantly stay active and learn new things. Whether it be fishing in a remote part of the world or cooking a complicated meal for 10 family members I’m always trying to learn the exceptional.

But a few years ago, I took it even further. I learned Korean Martial Arts! Yes, I’m serious. If this seems random, I recommend reading my series about things you probably didn’t know about me for more surprises.

Korean martial arts itself isn’t what keeps the inspiration coming – but it’s what I learned from those classes. The headspace I was able to achieve was incredible.

I focused on a specific type of martial art that comes from the Hwarang Korean Warriors. This kind included meditation using key energy just as much as it was focused on the body. It’s understood that in order to achieve your full potential in other things in life, the mind must be right as well.

How does this relate to business?

If I’m running low on inspiration, I’ll try to find that key energy again. I’ll do something that will force me to get it back. This is the reason why you’ll see me marlin fishing in the BVI!

As long as I’m constantly challenged, I’ll find inspiration… someway, somehow.

What constitutes as challenging?

I can practically hear my friends or kids saying something about how life itself is challenging! While parts of it may be, I’m serious when I say you must get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself.

I don’t train and I don’t do yoga because I don’t think I get the same thing out of it. There’s a way to get your body to work, similar to when you’re playing intense sports when you can really push yourself. That’s when I’ll get this response of energy and my mind completely wakes up.

How you can find inspiration and do the same for your business

If you think I’m exaggerating, I ask you to try it just once! I have over 30 businesses under the Cadman Capital umbrella and all of them have lacked innovation at one time or another. I recommend you try something absolutely physically exhausting and let me know how it goes.

It always comes back to mental health and the importance of having a clear mind, doesn’t it?
